You need to find different tools to help for the different situations you go through. Your pain is not only physical but tied to your emotions. So sometimes when you go through something triggering your emotions you will find your pain will increase substantially. So every week try to find something else to help cope.
Here is what I do. I do pray I believe in God and If you don't then be skip this but I call on God throughout my days and nights. I also do praise and worship. I listen to singing bowls, rain meditation, I listen to I am affirmations, I listen to and watch indigenous people singing the music they created and their old traditions. I have been writing out Psalms daily I believe they are full of promises. I have joined this family nightly, and been using the meditations Mark teaches which is brilliant I am fascinated by his knowledge and creativity. I read a book that I feel interested but not self help until you feel really strong and not take the words negatively. For instance I'm interested in angels and trying to discover if fairies are real, yes I said fairies. I have a golden retriever Misty and a white Persian cat named Fae, that I snuggle a lot. A emotional support animal is a great tool.
If your emotions are on edge like anxiety, depression and panic you need to find things that make you laugh (tv shows, TikTok, YouTube, visiting people).
If you feel you have a lot of stress and feel emotional you need to let out some of that you've with held with in so your going to watch something like grey's anatomy where you let out a few tears at a time and it doesn't overwhelm you. I also go to counseling every other week and now I have this family to help me also to connect with.
There is so so many things in this world that we can learn that are fun and interesting. Start looking to find what your interests are in. If you can't yet then write it down until your ready the time will come you will know it when it happens.
I know you will find what you need when your ready to find it. I hope this helps.
